The Third & The Seventh from Alex Roman on Vimeo.
Exeter Shot -- Making Of from Alex Roman on Vimeo.
Rebecca Sugar

Her blog

Her web page
Just something I stumbled onto while surfing the interweb, I like her style alot, I dont know what it is or where it comes from, but its cool.
Her short comic strip Don't Cry For Me Im Already Dead is funny, check it out http://www.sugarboukas.com/shorts

Also worth a look http://www.cartoonbrew.com/brewtv/singles.html

Very cool short animation by her, the style of expressions and acting in the character reminds me of John K's stuff, creator of Ren and Stimpy. Also a nice touch is some of the backgrounds are painted, and looks like the animation was done in flash, im not sure though.
So she has a load of comics, a short animation, lots of cool paintings, probably a brilliant portfolio. And she's only 21 ... *puts gun in mouth, BANG!*

Get Ready For 3D Movie Porn
(from Empireonline.com)
"Tinto Brass, the man who made, and then loathed, 1979's Caligula (the hardcore sex scenes were edited in against his will), is planning what he's describing as the world's first-ever 3D pornographic production.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brass announced in Rome that he thinks the time is right, in this post-Avatar world, to make an erotic film that fully utilizes the 3D format.
And his idea? "To revisit an abandoned project about a Roman emperor that was ruined by Americans, and go from there." Looks like he wants to create a more definitive Caligula, and this time we'll all experience it in our laps.
He's kicking off work on the script right now with the aim to shoot in May or June."
Dave...you were right! SWEEEET

Expressions
Another great post by John K, remember I posted a link before about character designs? This is the same guy, now talking about expressions, really useful stuff
http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2010/01/acting-tools-1-expressions-basic.html

I love when emotions are done really subtly, the untrained eye would miss that he is shocked in this scene

The Thief and The Cobbler
You should all watch this animation, especially if your a fan of Richard Williams, lead animator on Who Framed Roger Rabbit and also he wrote that book, you know the one I mean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgQy2I9NCS8&feature=channel
You can watch the whole movie in parts on youtube
One thing you should know before watching it is that this film was financed by him, money from his pocket, and it never actually got finished :P
Eventually he decided in 1990 or something, after 20 years of making it, that he would get financial backing, but he failed to finish on time so the distribution company got rid of him and finished it in their own way, thats not right ... :S
But in 2006 a fan cut a version of the film in the way more or less that Williams had invisioned it, so sometimes theres just pencil tests, or even storyboards, but its still awesome! The fan version is called The Theif and the cobbler recobbled

Great 2d software and cool animator!
Turns out I don't have work tonight! Yippiee!
Anyway here some cool links:
Jason Ryan Animation (lead animator for Shrek, and worked on Chicken Little before that). Watch the intro on his website, it's pretty cool. Simple but cool!
http://www.jasonryananimation.com/

And this is the software he uses for his pre-vis,
the animation worked on 2d before doing his 3d animation.
